The 5 most common pathologies:
1- Navicular disease: a chronic degenerative condition, is a cause of laminess.
2- Founder, or laminitis: occurs when the coffin bone polls away from the sole due to inflammation and fluid in the laminae.
3-EPM: equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM) attack the brain and spinal cord. Muscular wasting, personality changes and abnormail gaits are hallmark of EPM.
4-Crushing's diseases: is a pituitary problem affecting older horses, can be managed when detected early, Is a first suspected when a horse is slow to shed, lose weight and drink excessively.
5-COPD, or allergic lung disease: is very similar to asthma in humans. Is left untreated, the lungs maybe permanently damaged, resulting in heaves.
